A TRIBUTE TO OT (AND A LAUGH FOR THE DAY)

Oh, the joys of growing gray,
The knees that creak, the hips that sway!
But fear not, dear seniors, there's hope in sight,
Occupational therapy will set things right.
With puzzles and games to keep minds keen,
No crossword left unsolved, no sudoku unseen.
Stretch those fingers, flex those toes,
It's exercise disguised—like sneaky pros!
Buttoning shirts, tying shoes with grace,
These noble tasks become a brand-new race.
And if you wrestle with stubborn jars,
They'll arm you with gadgets fit for the stars.
Climbing stairs feels like scaling Everest?
Therapists become your adventure vest.
With grab bars placed in strategic spots,
You'll feel like you've conquered the toughest plots.
They'll have you gardening, painting, and baking,
Skills revived, not forsaken!
From wielding spatulas to planting seeds,
You'll rediscover life's joyful deeds.
And when the dance of balance proves tricky,
Fear not—there’s a walker that’s nifty and sticky.
It's not the tango, but you'll glide with flair,
Occupational therapy, showing they care.
So here's to therapists who work with cheer,
Helping the elderly year by year.
With humor, patience, and a touch of jest,
They truly are the unsung best!
Occupational Therapy Month is celebrated annually in April. It is a time to raise awareness about the profession of occupational therapy and the important role that occupational therapists play in improving people's lives. If you need an occupational therapist (learn more about what we do here), then speak to LifeCare and we can request an order from your doctor.
